Surrounded by rhododendrons, ferns, and berry bushes, Hummingbird Lodge is nestled on 10 acres of forested land with complete solitude. It is minutes away from Mt. Hood National Forest and Sandy River on the east and just over an hour from Portland in the other direction. Although it rained on and off during my stay, the cabin offered a sweet escape from the cold and wind. From the porch to the loft, Airbnb superhost Stephanie made sure her guests feel at home while also able to enjoy a private getaway.
